Senior Educational Facilities Planner - K-12 Master Planning

TETER is seeking a Senior Educational Facilities Planner to lead high-impact master planning efforts that guide millions in public investment. In this role, you’ll help school districts make confident decisions about modernization, growth, and long-range infrastructure strategy.
You won’t just deliver plans—you’ll see your work move from vision to implementation , partnering closely with architects and engineers to bring ideas to life.
This position focuses on the built environment and capital planning side of K–12 education. It does not involve curriculum development, instructional planning, or academic program management.Why This Role Stands Out

What You'll Do
Lead districtwide facilities master planning and capital programs
Guide decisions on modernization, replacement, growth, and consolidation
Align enrollment projections and educational programs with facility needs
Develop capital improvement plans, including prioritization and phasing
Partner with architects and engineers to transition planning into design
Present recommendations to leadership teams, boards, and communities
Facilitate workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions
What You Bring
Required
8–10+ years in facilities planning, architecture, or capital programs
Experience with K–12 master planning or bond-funded projects
Strong ability to translate data into actionable planning strategies
Excellent presentation and stakeholder communication skills
Experience working with or within A/E/C teams
Preferred
California public school experience (CDE/DSA familiarity)
Experience presenting to boards or executive leadership
Professional licensure or advanced degree (a plus, not required)

Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $115,500–150,000 (actual pay depends on licensure, qualifications, experience, location, and business needs)*

*Candidates with less planning experience are encouraged to apply but role placement and annual salary may be in a lower range, such as $90,000-$105,000 for Educational Planner I, or $105,000-120,000 for Educational Planner II.
