Travel Cath Lab RN Job Details

• Location: Chicago, IL 60625 (Illinois nursing jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Unit: Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab)
• Start Date: September 2, 2025
• End Date: November 25, 2025
• Duration: 12-week contract
• Shifts: 5x8-hour days (07:00 – 15:30); possible 4x10s (07:00 – 17:30)
• Hours per Week: 40 guaranteed
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2620 - $2690
• Call Requirement: 2-3 days during the week and every other weekend; up to 2 weekends of call per contract; holiday call may be required
• Orientation: 16 hours

Cath Lab RN Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be in hand at time of application)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Cath Lab RN experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Experience with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system preferred
• Proficiency in 12 Lead EKG, ACT, antiarrhythmics, cardiac stent placement, diagnostic/interventional catheterizations, procedural sedation, and related Cath Lab procedures
• Must pass EKG test on first attempt (84% or higher)
• Willingness to float between Glenbrook, Skokie, Highland Park, and Evanston hospitals as needed
• Two professional nursing references preferred

Cath Lab RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures
• Circulate and assist with Cath Lab procedures, including cardiac stent placement, pacemaker insertion, and electrophysiology studies
• Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, including administration and monitoring of procedural sedation
• Respond to cardiac emergencies and administer emergency medications as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EHR
• Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled, including some weekends and holidays
